The Encyclopedia of Earth

Alejandra Roman graduated (May 2006) from Boston University with a double B.A. in Environmental Policy and Analysis and Hispanic Language and Literature. While studying, she worked as a research assistant for Cutler Cleveland at Boston University's Center for Energy and Environmental Studies. Currently she is employed at the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE) where she continues to work on the Earth Portal and the Encyclopedia of Earth as a Program Assistant. In July 2009, Alejandra received her MSc from Erasmus Mundus program (MESPOM) hosted by four institutions in Europe:  Central European University, University of Manchester, Lund University and University of the Aegean. She completed her masters thesis research at the University of Manchester on the topic of continuous ground gas monitoring to verify greenhouse gas emissions from peat soils. Her thesis involved using ground gas monitoring instruments called Gasclams developed by her thesis adviser, Dr. Stephen Boult.
